Dear readers, we are happy to be back together, after this little summer break. The main focus of this issue, as previously announced, is cyber security, which is one of the pillars of digital trust and tries to protect us against viruses of another nature than biological ones. Cybersecurity is today one of the great major challenges for the world economy, the International Telecoms Union (ITU) has created for this purpose, a Global Cybersecurity Index. This index, which is a tool for assessing and ranking the performance of ITU member states, aims to assess the level of states in this area. Regarding this index, the USA occupied the first place in 2020.

Therefore, to deepen this subject, we offer you an interview and four articles. - Mr. S.S, a "halal" hacker working for a large French company, gives us an enlightening interview on this digital activity. - "Information society and cyber security", an article by Ahmed Khaouja, already published in the French regulator's review "L’ARCEP ". - “Cyber security law in Morocco”, treated by Mr. Sbihi Mohamed Taher, an expert in administrative law and researcher in management. -An article relating to the major global cybersecurity center inaugurated by Huawei in China in June 2021

- Cyber security does not only fear human attacks from anthropophilic or even villainous hackers. It also fears a natural attack of a great magnitude, like the storm that paralyzed in 1859, all the electrical and telegraph networks: the whole Earth received a bombardment of ionizing radiation from a solar storm. Such contingency, which is quite probable, will be very perilous and extremely fearsome for our very connected societies because it would paralyze all the networks: electric, telecoms, ... Let us imagine, for a single moment, all the big data centers being knocked down: the digital memory of all our humanity would fly away like smoke! On this subject, Ata-Ilah Khaouja and Ahmed Khaouja propose an article that exposes the risk of losing a planet-wide memory. According to NASA, our Globe has avoided, recently and more precisely on July 23, 2012, a catastrophe of such magnitude that our civilization, by disruption of all electronic and electrical networks, would have been brought back purely and simply to the 18th century without being prepared for this forced return. A historical and planetary reset of our species. According to the physicist Peter Riley, the risk of an equivalent solar storm returning in the next ten years is 12%, or one chance in ten!

Certainly, the probability of such an alien cyberattack remains low, however, thinking about it while preparing ourselves for this sad scenario, allows us to protect ourselves in advance and humanity will come out a winner. The subject is not unusual, and several large companies and government agencies are already preparing for these risks. Some countries have been seriously interested in such as Switzerland, which has long been known for storing the world's gold, and which has now positioned itself in data storage.

And of course, as in each issue, you will find in the other sections: "events" and "Media library" additional information on the cyber security file. Finally, the next LTE magazine will be reserved for the protection of personal data, a topical subject in relation to digital trust.
